| Kourosh Bassiti, BScTech; MAIChE, FRSA,
graduated in Chemical Engineering and Fuel Technology
from Sheffield University. He has over 25 years of
experience in the oil and petrochemical industry in the
USA, Middle East and Europe. He began his career in the
upstream oil industry, for a subsidiary of the National
Iranian Oil Company, and Atlantic Richfield. Subsequently
he worked for Union Carbide Corporation in the United
States as well as in Athens, covering Middle East and
Africa. After returning to the United Kingdom, he worked
for Robert Jenkins, where his business development skills
were used to supply packaged process equipment to the
world-wide oil and gas industry. He later was appointed
as the Director of CALtec, the subsidiary of the British
Hydromechanics Research Group, where he gained a
reputation in promoting and developing technologies for
the petroleum industry. In the public sector, Kourosh Bassiti was responsible for the economic development of the energy industries in Scotland. His responsibilities included the oil and gas as well as the power generation sector. In that position he championed the business needs of the service and supply companies, and in particular drew attention to the need for supporting the development of the emerging technologies through joint industry programmes. He was the first Director of the Aberdeen Offshore Technology Park, where over 30 international innovative companies in the oil and gas industry are based. In addition to his current consultancy services, Kourosh Bassiti lectures to MSc students, at Aberdeen University in Scotland, on Business Strategy and Marketing. |
